Drakamöllan in times of corona

Spring is here

Suddenly, they were there! The first intensely green little beech leaves at the far end of the moor – two weeks ahead of everything else.

This year, many of us will have the time to enjoy the great wonder of not only seeing but also hearing the beech tree buds burst. Bring a blanket, lay down under a beech tree and listen to the popping sound when the pink covers burst and unfold the tender green leaves, who at first look like butterflies. Soon, the ground will be completely pink and up above you’ll have the most beautiful green foliage.

Private hotel guests welcome all days of the week

We’re now making room for private guests also during the weekdays, and of course as usual during the weekends. The safety of our guests and our employees is our top priority – now more than ever – and we’re strictly following the guidelines from the authorities. We’ve now reduced the number of guests to half of what we normally would welcome, a maximum of 14 persons per night.

Current offers:

  1. Mini getaway
  2. Romantic weekend
  3. Long weekend
  4. Or choose between our special spring offers presented below

Pop-up Café – open all weekends

The joy of this spring! When everything turned quiet, it was so lovely to be able to welcome and meet happy and positive guests enjoying the early spring sunshine here in our sheltered courtyard. The Easter weekend was even covered in the local newspapers “Ystads Allehanda” and “Kristianstadsbladet”.

When the sun shines it feels like summer here and there’s plenty of room for around 30 guests at the same time. Perfect to enjoy a nice, al fresco spring lunch or to have coffee with freshly baked goods. Please see what we’re offering below: (when the weather allows)

Spring lunch platter

Corn fed chicken from Österlen, lemon- & fennel smoked salmon, potato salad, organic eggs from “Stora Juleboda Gård”, wild garlic cream, rapeseed shoots with browned butter and nettle mayonnaise. Included in the lunch is also a small rhubarb dessert. We have many different nonalcoholic options to choose from and of course beer and wine as well.

Sandwiches

We’ll whip up a sumptuous sandwich with salmon or ham or a vegetarian/vegan option in no time at all. To be eaten in the courtyard or taken with you on your hike.

Picnic baskets – sweet or savory

You’ll find freshly baked goods with spring flavors (three different kinds) in our sweet picnic basket and the savory one is filled with a choice of either smoked salmon or roasted lamb, potato salad and lots of greens from our garden plus a small cake. A vegetarian or vegan option is also available. Drinks can be bought, please bring your thermos for coffee.

Please get in touch a little bit ahead of time

If you wish to come and have lunch/coffee or bring a picnic basket on your hike, please let us know in advance. You can always reach us on info@drakamollan.com or 044 – 35 10 16.

The asparagus is here –
weekend offer 30/4, 2/5, 21/5 and 23/5

Primeur asparagus will be the star of our five-course asparagus feast. White and green asparagus from nearby producers will be used and served with shellfish, salmon, veal, and eggs along with many other exciting condiments. A special wine menu will be put together to accompany and highlight the menu.

The offer includes one night with breakfast, coffee and cake upon arrival and a five-course asparagus menu. 1 950 SEK p.p. (we’ll be welcoming a limited number of guests each night)

Ascension Day- & “Matrundan” 21-24/5 –
with exciting lectures

“Matrundan på Österlen” is, unfortunately, one of the events which cannot be realized as planned this year. For many years, we have offered a much-appreciated buffet during “Matrundan” but this year we’ll instead be offering a “Matrunde platter”, served in our garden every day at noon. An exciting lecture is also held every day at 11 a.m. Please contact us for more info.

Three days of Midsummer celebration

As of today, we still don’t know whether we’ll be able to realize our opera concert on the second day of Midsummer as planned, but fingers crossed! What better way to celebrate the “return to normality” than with the magic world of Wagner, followed by tunes by Carl Nielsen, Evert Taube and many more. Regardless, we’ll still be celebrating Midsummer with dancing around the pole and all the rest.

Midsummer at Drakamöllan

We welcome our guests at 1 p.m. when we’ll start decorating the pole and making flower wreaths followed by dancing around the pole and after that, we’ll be serving coffee and Midsummer cake. In the early evening we’ll be serving dinner – either as a buffet or plated – with herring, snaps and everything else that belongs to a traditional Midsummer feast. We’ll be having fun and enjoying the longest day of the year. The day after, a brunch will be served and should you wish to spend another night and enjoy our Midsummer concert, you’re most welcome to.

One night including Midsummer celebration and brunch: 2 200 SEK p.p.
Two nights including Midsummer celebration, brunch and a three-course dinner plus breakfast: 3 900 SEK p.p.

Wagner and more – the 2nd day of Midsummer
21/6, 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.

It cannot get more intimate than this, you’ll be able to experience an unusual closeness to the opera singers/musicians as the concert will take place in our courtyard this year.

A rising star and two royal opera singers

We’ll meet a new rising star in Trine Bastrup Møller, who this year will be singing “Turandot” in Japan, and of course also our “own” singers from the Royal Danish Opera, Niels Jörgen Riis, and Guido Paevatalu. They’ll be accompanied by a small orchestra, a septet. Conductor: Leif Greibe.

The best of Wagner

The first act will showcase a selection of the best from the magical world of Wagner, a grand musical experience. The second act will be of a more lighthearted and summery character.
The concert begins at 3 p.m. and is estimated to be done by 6 p.m. Coffee and cake will be served between acts. There is room for a maximum of 300 persons, chairs will be provided.
You’re also welcome to enjoy our Midsummer buffet – or a plated version – before the concert at 1 p.m.
Concert including buffet, coffee, and cake, 750 SEK p.p.
