Now that the Skåneleden trail has been extended with a new route, we are delighted to offer hikers a new and exciting experience, bringing together three unique hotels along the way: Tastecelebration Residence, Drakamöllan Gårdshotell and Kastanjelund.

And for those who enjoy the good things in life but prefer cycling to hiking, this adventure is for you too. We can even help arrange for a bicycle to be waiting for you when you are ready to set off.

Your journey begins high up on the Linderödsåsen ridge, with an overnight stay at Tastecelebration Residence, where you will enjoy Isabel Brummer’s exciting cuisine. Isabel is one of only nine Swedish restaurateurs to have received the distinction Best Vegetables Restaurants Worldwide.

During the evening, you can plan your strategy for the hike – or your cycling adventure, if that is what you prefer. We will make sure you have everything you need, including maps and other useful information.

After breakfast, it is time for the great adventure to begin!

You will set off with a delicious, generously filled picnic to keep you going throughout the day. And whether you choose to walk or cycle, we will make sure your luggage is waiting for you when you reach your destination.

The well-marked Skåneleden trail takes you along the dramatic ravines of the Verkeån river, down to the magnificent rolling hills of Brösarp and onwards through the heathlands of Drakamöllan. A hike of 17 kilometres.

Your destination for the first stage is Drakamöllan Gårdshotell, a traditional Skåne farmhouse dating back to the 17th century, which for more than 20 years has been one of the region’s most talked-about country hotels.

On arrival, you can relax in the garden with afternoon coffee and something delicious to eat. And after a day on the trail, it has surely never tasted better!

A soothing foot spa awaits you in your room before it is time for dinner.

Drakamöllan’s kitchen is known for its modern interpretation of traditional Skåne cuisine. Local ingredients, always in season, and preferably something gathered from the forest or grown in our own garden.

After a peaceful night’s sleep in a landscape where the silence is almost complete, and a hearty country breakfast, it is time to continue your adventure.

The final stage, a little over 28 kilometres, takes you to Kastanjelund in Yngsjö, a charming family-run gem.

The day begins with a spectacular walk across Drakamöllan’s unique sandy grasslands, continuing along an old railway embankment before reaching the sea at Rigeleje.

After a wonderful break by the sea, where your exciting picnic will once again provide a few delicious surprises, the hike continues along the beautiful Ålakusten, the Eel Coast, towards Yngsjö.

All the while, the sea remains on the horizon.

Here, the trail winds through coastal woodland and across sand dunes. You will certainly feel it in your legs. But oh, how beautiful it is!

At Kastanjelund, a very special atmosphere awaits. The intimate dining rooms have a delightful old-world charm, and your room has its own private patio where you can sit back and enjoy the peace and quiet.

And naturally, your luggage will already be there.

In the evening, you can look forward to a well-deserved dinner with many delicious courses. Both the food and the warm, personal atmosphere receive glowing praise from delighted guests.

Bring your dog along

Who wants to leave their best friend at home when setting off on such an exciting adventure?

Dogs are welcome at all three of our hotels. Just remember to book well in advance, as only a limited number of rooms are available for guests travelling with dogs.

A Foodie Mug for every hiker – and a diploma

For us, sustainability is simply a matter of course. It is part of how we run our hotels and restaurants, and naturally it is part of the hiking experience too.

That is why we have created our own Foodie Mug. You take it with you on your hike and, afterwards, it is yours to keep as a little reminder of your adventure.

And just as walkers on the Pilgrim Trail can mark their achievement, we have created a diploma for our Foodie Hikers. After all, who doesn’t enjoy a little recognition after accomplishing something special?

For those who want to go the extra mile

There are many ways to tailor this hiking adventure to your own wishes. The route described above is just one example.

You could, for instance, leave your car at Drakamöllan and follow the Österlen Circuit to Tastecelebration Residence for your first overnight stay.

The following day, you take the other part of the Österlen Circuit back to Drakamöllan for your second night.

On the third day, you complete your adventure by following the Skåneleden trail all the way to Kastanjelund.

By then, you will have walked an impressive 68 kilometres in just three days. And surely, after an achievement like that, you will have truly earned your diploma!

We will happily arrange transport back to your car – unless, of course, you feel like another day’s hiking.

For those who prefer cycling

We will help you tailor cycling routes of just the right length, beginning at Tastecelebration Residence and finishing at Kastanjelund.

Choose between daily stages of 45 or 75 kilometres.

Your route will take you along quiet country roads winding through magnificent beech forests, across open fields, through deep valleys and charming little villages.

As you approach the sea, the Sydostleden cycle route offers wonderful opportunities to explore the fertile countryside of this beautiful part of Skåne.

Price per person for the package with three overnight stays: SEK 7,950. Single-room supplement: SEK 400 per night.

Dogs are welcome at an additional charge of SEK 200 per night.
